What's the difference between the Windows Desktop and Online Versions?
The main difference is that the Windows Desktop version is an app that runs on your computer, whereas the Online version is a web app, which means it opens in your browser, but all the processing is done remotely. For more info, click here to compare the versions of the Novel Factory.
Does the Desktop version work on a Mac?
The Online version of the Novel Factory works on any platform with an Internet browser. (You can log in and subscribe to the online version here.
If you're only interested in running the Windows Desktop version on a Mac, it is possible to use special software that allows you to run Windows applications on a Mac, some of our users do that. You can read more about it on our forum here. However, we cannot provide support or advice on running the software on a Mac.
How many computers can I use the Novel Factory Windows Desktop on?
As many as you like. The licenses are per user, not per computer, so you can install the Desktop version on as many machines as you wish, as long as it's for your personal use only.
Do you provide bug fixes and support for the software?
We do! If there are any fixes needed or problems encountered by our users, we offer full support. Please note that we are no longer actively developing new features for the current Desktop version of the software, however the Online version is continually updated.
What if a new version of the software is released?
Free and discounted upgrades will be offered to existing Desktop users when newer software is released.
