Working offline in The Novel Factory
The Novel Factory includes a setting which allows you to work offline. This can be useful if you know you are going to be without an internet connection for a period of time and want to be able to continue working on your novel.
It is important to note that the ‘work offline’ setting stops the software (either in the browser or on your desktop) from syncing data with the cloud. This means that your data is not being backed up centrally, and if you open the app on a different device, it will not have any work that was done after moving to offline working. You will need to go back online for any changes to sync and be available from different devices.
Working offline
To work offline in The Novel Factory, click the cloud icon in the top right-hand corner.
This will bring up a pop-up. Click the ‘work offline’ button.
The message in the pop-up will change, confirming you are now in offline mode.
If you would like to begin working online again, simply repeat the steps above and click the button that says ‘connect’.
