Clearing your Data and Closing your account

For the purposes of closing your account, its important to understand the distinction between your account and your subscription.

Your ‘account‘ is your Novel Factory account which contains all your novel data. It is what you log into to write your novel.

Your ‘subscription‘ is the recurring payment which is set up on a monthly or annual basis.

So, you can set up an account, pay for a year and then cancel your subscription, and your account will remain active for the remainder of that prepaid year, even though your subscription has been cancelled.

Closing your account

If you would like to permanently close your account, then all you need to do is end your subscription, as per these instructions:

Cancelling your subscription

At the end of the prepaid period, your account will automatically close.

Note that as stated above, when you do this, your payment details are removed from our system, and there will be no further charges (unless you actively resubscribe).

However, your Novel Factory account will remain active and you will be able to log in and work on your novel until the end of the prepaid period.

If you would also like to clear your data, then follow the instructions below. Note that this must be completed before you lose access to the account.
